In recent years the Society’s efforts have been in five areas:

  1. Improving and modernizing the interior of the building.
  2. Gathering information and issuing several important publications:
    • Brentwood’s 225 Years – published in 1967 for the 225th anniversary of the founding of the town, and reprinted in 1976 on the occasion of the nation’s Bicentennial Celebration;
    • Program and Historical Souvenir, 250th Anniversary of the town (1992);
    • Notes and References to Brentwood’s 225 Years (1994), which offers much needed assistance for some of the vague locations in the 1967 book, using today’s house numbers;
    • A comprehensive index of all the graves in the town’s 26 cemeteries.
  3. Arranging programs and exhibits that help the town residents make the connection between the past and their current lives.
  4. Organizing tours for the members to other historic points of interest in New Hampshire and New England.
  5. Brentwood New Hampshire through the Years - 1742-2017, town history updated for the 275th Anniversary of the town (2017).
